Giving birth truly changes your life, and it is a
great honour for me to be present at such a powerful and significant
time. I believe that providing support and information can increase confidence through the journey of becoming parents. Expectant parents have important questions and concerns regarding this process, and find they are able to more fully connect to their experience when they can gain information beforehand about birth and the many options available. As the mother of three, I understand the significant emotions and
questions surrounding pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.
And as a doula, I am committed to bringing support to all aspects of
your unique experience. I work to inform you and provide emotional and
physical support in whatever setting or options you choose for your
birth and beyond. I take the time to answer your individual questions
during the prenatal phase and help you decide what questions you want
to ask your care provider about their preferences and what questions to
raise about the policies of your chosen birth location. I am a familiar
face that stays by your side for the entire labour, who is there
specifically to support your needs and facilitate a positive birth
experience by providing encouragement during a time of uncertainty. While it is not possible to plan or control your birth, you can know your options, approach your labour with flexibility, make informed decisions, and recognize that how you are treated during your birth will help shape your experience and perceptions. There is no perfect way to give birth, only what is right for you and your baby, and I will honour your preferences. It has been my privilege to have provided
personalized support to more than 120 women over the last 12 years. I have been professionally
trained through DONA International, a non-profit organization. Through my experiences, I have assisted women and their families in a variety of birthing situations, from cesarean birth, to epidural
births, to births with no pain medications and waterbirth. I look
forward to chatting with you about how we can work together! |
